Get started with Super Comparer for Outlook
What you need
-
Outlook on the web, new Outlook for Windows, classic Outlook for Windows (Version 2304 or later), or new Outlook for Mac. Outlook mobile apps are not supported.
-
A Microsoft account: a work or school account, or a personal Microsoft account.
-
A Super Comparer account. New users get a 7-day free trial with no credit card. See pricing.
Install it yourself
-
In Outlook, select Apps (or Get Add-ins).
-
Search for Super Comparer and select Add.
-
Open an email, select Super Comparer in the ribbon or the message's Apps menu, and sign in.
If you see "Need admin approval", your organization requires an IT administrator to approve the add-in. Send them this page.
Install it for your organization (IT administrators)
-
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings > Integrated apps > Get apps.
-
Search for Super Comparer and select Get it now.
-
Choose the users or groups to deploy to, review the permissions, and select Accept permissions. This grants admin consent for everyone you deploy to.
-
Finish the deployment. It can take up to 24 hours for the add-in to appear in users' Outlook.
Admin consent for Microsoft Graph
Super Comparer needs two Microsoft Graph permissions:
-
User.Read: to read the user's name and email address and link Outlook to their Super Comparer account.
-
Mail.ReadWrite: to read the email, thread and attachments the user chooses to compare, and to insert results or attach files to an email the user is writing.
The add-in only reads mailbox data when the user runs a feature, and never sends email itself. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
To grant consent for your whole organization without deploying the add-in centrally, sign in as a Global Administrator or Privileged Role Administrator and open this link:
https://login.microsoftonline.com/organizations/v2.0/adminconsent?client_id=[PRODUCTION_CLIENT_ID]&scope=https://graph.microsoft.com/User.Read%20https://graph.microsoft.com/Mail.ReadWrite&redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Foutlook.us.supercomparer.com%2Fconsent.html
[DEVELOPER: insert the production client ID. If the backend API scope from section 3 of the requirements is added, include it in scope too.]
After you approve, you'll see a confirmation page on our site.
Remove the add-in
If you installed it yourself
-
In Outlook, select Apps (or Get Add-ins).
-
Go to My add-ins.
-
Find Super Comparer, select … (More actions), then Remove.
If Remove is unavailable or the add-in is marked as admin-managed, your IT administrator deployed it. Ask them to remove it.
If your organization deployed it
In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings > Integrated apps, select Super Comparer, and choose Remove app.
Removing the add-in does not delete your data or cancel your subscription. To do either, see below.
Revoke Microsoft permissions
-
Personal Microsoft accounts: go to account.live.com/consent/Manage, select Super Comparer, then Remove these permissions.
-
Work or school accounts: your IT administrator can revoke access in the Microsoft Entra admin center under Enterprise applications > Super Comparer > Properties > Delete.
Delete your data
-
Delete files yourself: open the Documents app in Super Comparer, select the file and delete it. This takes effect immediately.
-
Delete your workspace or close your account: email support@supercomparer.com from the email address on your account, or submit the support form with the topic Data deletion request. We confirm by email once deletion is complete, within 30 days. Deleted data is removed from backups within a further 30 days.
-
Requests from your organization: if your firm pays for your account, its administrator can ask us to delete it. We verify that the request comes from the paying organization before acting, and we notify the user.
-
Inactive accounts: if an account is inactive for an extended period (currently 12 months), we email the user, then delete the account 30 days later if they don't respond.
Troubleshooting
-
The sign-in window doesn't appear or closes immediately. Allow pop-ups for outlook.us.supercomparer.com, then try again. The add-in falls back to a separate sign-in window when Outlook can't sign you in automatically.
-
"Need admin approval". Your organization blocks user consent. Ask your IT administrator to follow the admin consent steps above.
-
"Subscription expired". Your trial or subscription has ended. Sign in to the web app to subscribe.
-
Drag and drop doesn't work. Drag and drop is available only in Outlook on the web and new Outlook for Windows.
-
An attachment won't load. Attachments over 25 MB aren't supported. Encrypted files can't be compared.
